These Bernie / AOC rallies are legitimately insane
And they're destroying another major argument against socialism.
The Fighting Oligarchy national tour headlined by Bernie Sanders and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez expected 3,000 people to show up at their Tucson, Arizon stop today. 23,000 showed up instead. They expected 2,000 people in Greeley, Colorado yesterday — instead, 11,000 came out. And later that day, the two held the largest political rally in Denver since 2008 with an absurd turnout of 34,000.
Crowd sizes don’t always correspond with national polling numbers so I usually don’t get too worked up about them, but these numbers are genuinely insane. Particularly outside of an election year. To put it in perspective, the last time Denver had an anti-Trump rally during his first year in office in 2017, about 200 people showed up.
